Best Time to Visit Komodo National Park

When to Sail

Komodo National Park has two seasons: dry (April–November) and wet (December–March). The dry season is the prime window for liveaboard trips.

Dry Season (April–November)

  • Calm seas, perfect for snorkeling and crossings
  • Underwater visibility 20–30m at Manta Point
  • Daily Padar sunrise hikes are clear and dry
  • Peak booking demand — reserve early

Wet Season (December–March)

  • Occasional storms, especially January–February
  • Visibility can drop to 10–15m
  • Less crowded, lower prices
  • Some routes get rerouted around weather

Recommended Months

  • May–July: balance of weather and price
  • August–September: peak dive season, manta sightings most reliable
  • October–November: shoulder season, fewer boats, still calm seas

Leticia operates year-round but most guests prefer May–October. Check live availability for your dates.
