Best Time to Visit Komodo National Park

When to Sail
Komodo National Park has two seasons: dry (April–November) and wet (December–March). The dry season is the prime window for liveaboard trips.
Dry Season (April–November)
- Calm seas, perfect for snorkeling and crossings
- Underwater visibility 20–30m at Manta Point
- Daily Padar sunrise hikes are clear and dry
- Peak booking demand — reserve early
Wet Season (December–March)
- Occasional storms, especially January–February
- Visibility can drop to 10–15m
- Less crowded, lower prices
- Some routes get rerouted around weather
Recommended Months
- May–July: balance of weather and price
- August–September: peak dive season, manta sightings most reliable
- October–November: shoulder season, fewer boats, still calm seas
Leticia operates year-round but most guests prefer May–October. Check live availability for your dates.
